International Voluntary Service Work Camp - Ulu Tembeling, Pahang, Malaysia
1 – 14 Jul 2011
International work camp is an effective program toward building and inculcating tolerance and culture understanding among youth to become united global citizen.
In year 2002 and 2003 Yayasan Salam Malaysia has successfully organized national level youth work camp. In year 2004, Yayasan Salam Malaysia organized its first international youth work camp, together with NICE Japan and Ministry of Youth and Sports and again in 2005. In 2006 and 2007, we conducted the camps with different partners – VYA Taiwan, Macau Youth Council, and Hong Kong Youth Federation. In 2008 we conducted our first international work camp in Cambodia. Since then we have been conducting national and international work camps in Malaysia and abroad.
This second International Work Camp in Ulu Tembeling will run for two weeks, where it will expose participants the various aspects of voluntarism – youth, children, environment, rural community and community development. They will also learn cross cultural sensitivity, self reflection and confidence. It is hoped that they will become global family and global citizen
